Robotics is a combination of different engg. branches that deals with the design, construction, operation & application of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback & information processing. These technologies deal with automated machines that can take the place of humans in dangerous environments or manufacturing processes, or resemble humans in appearance, behaviour, and/or cognition.
These category of workshops are microcontroller based introductory workshops, which will help in clearing concepts related to robotics, embedded systems, artificial intelligence & automation. Hands-on on the robotic kit consisting of microcontroller board, sensors, actuators etc. will enhance the embedded C programming and hardware interfacing skills of the participants. Category includes: Line Follower, Obstacle Avoider Robot, Acceleration Sensor based hand gesture controlled Robot, Mobile phone controlled Robot, Touch Screen controlled Robot, IR TV remote controlled wireless Robot etc.
Hexapod robots are electro-mechanical vehicles that walks on six legs. Many hexapod robots are biologically inspired by Hexapoda locomotion. Hexapod robots are especially suited for moving over varied terrain. Hexapods may be used to test biological theories about insect locomotion, motor control, and neurobiology. A radially symmetric hexapod is ATHLETE (All-Terrain Hex-Legged Extra-Terrestrial Explorer) robot at JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) of NASA.
These category of workshops are microcontroller based workshops aims at giving an opportunity to the buddying engineers to take a stand and actively participate in the development of Legged Robots right from the scratch using the specially designed Laser Cut hexapod walker robotic kit. Category includes: Touch screen controlled robot, Obstacle Avoider Robot, Acceleration Sensor based hand gesture controlled Robot, Mobile phone controlled Robot, IR TV remote controlled wireless Robot etc.
Bipedalism is a form of terrestrial locomotion where an organism moves by means of its two rear limbs or legs. An animal or machine that usually moves in a bipedal manner is known as a biped, meaning “two feet”. Types of bipedal movement include walking, running, or hopping. Biped robot mimics the locomotion system of humans; building of a biped robot takes you one step closer towards the making of a humanoid robot like ASIMO of Honda.
This workshop is for them who are feeling bore in working with the same traditional wheeled robots & wants to learn something crazy & make the robot a bit more creature-like. It will fulfill the dream of making a two legged walking robot which is the first step towards building up of a Humanoid Robot. Hands-on on the kit will bring all the intricacies of Human Motion Dynamics to life. Category includes: Touch screen controlled robot, Acceleration Sensor based hand gesture controlled Robot, Mobile phone controlled Robot, IR TV remote controlled wireless Robot etc.
A Robotic Arm is a type of mechanical arm, usually programmable, with similar functions to a human arm; the arm may be the sum total of the mechanism or may be part of a more complex robot. The links of such a manipulator are connected by joints allowing either rotational motion or translational (linear) displacement. The end effector, or robotic hand, can be designed to perform any desired task e.g. in automotive assembly lines it perform a variety of tasks such as welding, parts rotation & placement during assembly.
In this workshop, using the kit participants would develop a 3 DOF robotic arm and would control it using a varieties of control mechanisms or technologies such as, Haptic sensing, Touch Screen control, Mobile phone control, wireless IR TV remote control etc.
